Hot Tub Landscaping Ideas

As temperatures begin to cool from a scorching summer, budget-friendly backyard DIY projects are on the rise. Everyone is getting ready for chilly fall nights full of roaring bonfires and relaxing soaks in the hot tub, now’s the time to make your backyard as dreamy as ever.

You already know that hot tubs are a surefire way to elevate any outdoor space on their own, but have you considered the landscaping and decor around your tub? Chances are, your spa blends into the rest of your yard or patio. With just a few bucks, it’s easy to create your dream spa space and make it a focal point. To get you started, here are a few expert decorating tips:

  1. Choose an open space

Traditionally, people place their hot tubs in corners or against fences in their yard. This can make it feel cramped or dark when walls or fences block the sun. Try changing things up by placing your spa more in the open, which also allows a better flow of conversation when several people are around the yard but not necessarily in the hot tub.

  1. Create an entry way

Frame the entrance to your hot tub to create a welcoming, luxurious feel. Try placing an outdoor rug under your steps. Smaller rugs create a tighter feel, while larger rugs become a statement piece and help keep the dirt at bay. For bigger outdoor spaces, a large rug and some chairs create a sitting space for others to join in the fun without awkwardly standing outside the spa. Add decor to both sides of your steps, like towel baskets and flowerpots. To create levels for a more modern look, add one tall towel rack on one side and two medium planters with shrubs or trees to the other.

  1. Add string lights

For magical nights and festive parties, hang string lights over your spa across the yard. Lights are a cost effective and simple way to elevate your space.
